Sports logos are some of the most recognizable marks in the world. Most professional sports team’s logos receive only minor modifications over decades of time. This is because a good logo design becomes an identity for a business, team, or organization.
Logos for sports teams become an identity.
It has become clear that sports are hear to stay and teams become part of a city’s identity (unless your team’s owner is a complete asshole… eat shit Kronke).
Sports teams don’t change their logos often because, like a business, it is a visual representation of the business for its customers.
ESPN has some of the best graphic designers in the world.
Unfortunately, their impressive work usually goes unnoticed.
Before highlights, showing standings, and a million other instances, they will flash one, or multiple teams, logos before a highlight or discussion.
Recently, they have been displaying logos with a 3D design.
After watching a segment of Sportscenter, I said to myself, “that would be a cool blog post”.
Rather than using their designs, we decided to create our own logo designs / logo modifications for popular sports teams.
Unlike our custom sports uniform design project, we did not create a completely new look.
Due to some of our upcoming projects, and being inspired by Sportscenter, we decided to simply add a 3D look to some random sports logos.
We have provided logo design services for many of our clients, but this was just a project we did on the side.
We should probably legally say we did not design any of the original logos we modified, nor do we own the rights to any of them.
